Koinovera
Terms of Service
Effective date: 5 September 2026
These Terms explain the rules for using Koinovera. They are intended to protect open, good-faith research and the people who contribute to it.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing or using Koinovera, you agree to these Terms of Service and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You may use Koinovera only if you are legally able to agree to these Terms where you live.
2. What Koinovera is
Koinovera is a community-powered evidence and research platform. It hosts user-submitted claims and sources and helps people organise, discuss, and assess evidence around specific claim wording.
Contributions are not automatically verified. Koinovera does not guarantee that any claim, source, rating, summary, classification, suggestion, or other contribution is complete, accurate, reliable, or correct.
- Claim status is not an official declaration of truth.
- Trust level is not proof of expertise.
- Reputation is not a truth score.
- AI output is advisory and may be wrong.
3. Accounts
You may browse public material without an account. Some actions, including contributing and reporting, require an account authenticated through an external identity provider. You are responsible for keeping access to that identity account secure, providing information reasonably required to operate Koinovera, activity performed through your account, and following these Terms and platform rules.
Tell the relevant identity provider promptly if you believe your sign-in method has been compromised, and do not let another person misuse your Koinovera account.
4. User content
“User content” includes claims, claim edits and revisions, references, evidence explanations, excerpts, ratings, review notes, reports, appeals, moderation interactions, and profile information that users submit.
You retain ownership of the original content you create. You give Koinovera a non-exclusive licence to host, store, reproduce, display, process, format, analyse, and distribute that content within the service only as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, improve, secure, and present Koinovera. This licence does not transfer ownership of your content to Koinovera.
You must have the rights and permissions needed to submit your content and grant this licence. You remain responsible for what you submit.
When you upload an image, you must say whether you made it or where it comes from, and credit its source when it is not your own. Only upload an image you have the right to use. Koinovera shows that statement beside the image and does not verify it.
If you believe an image on Koinovera uses your work without permission, use the Report option on the source or the case and choose “Uses an image without permission”. If you do not have an account, send the details through the support form: the page the image is on, the work it copies, and how to reach you. An image that is upheld as used without permission is removed from public view wherever it is cited. The contributor who added it may appeal that decision.
5. Claim revisions
Claim wording and context may be edited. Koinovera preserves claim revisions so readers can understand the exact wording that a contribution addressed. Evidence may remain associated with the revision it originally addressed, and historical wording may remain visible for transparency and research integrity. Editing current wording does not necessarily erase an earlier revision.
6. Evidence and citations
When contributing evidence, you should:
- submit sources in good faith and accurately describe what each source establishes;
- avoid fabricated sources, selectively altered material, and deliberately misleading excerpts;
- distinguish evidence and source-based interpretation from personal opinion;
- describe relevant limitations or uncertainty where you know of them; and
- respect copyright, privacy, confidentiality, and other rights.
Linking to a source does not make every use of its material lawful. Keep quotations proportionate and provide attribution where appropriate.
7. Prohibited conduct
You must not use Koinovera to:
- post spam, malware, illegal content, or misleading or fraudulent submissions;
- impersonate another person or organisation, harass others, or facilitate abuse;
- manipulate ratings, coordinate deceptive activity, or deliberately distort how evidence is classified or presented;
- abuse reports or appeals, evade moderation, or create or use accounts to avoid restrictions;
- probe, compromise, interfere with, or bypass the security or normal operation of the service;
- use bots, scripts, scraping, or other automated access in a way that materially disrupts Koinovera or circumvents reasonable limits; or
- encourage or assist another person to do any of the above.
Legitimate research, criticism, disagreement, and counter-evidence are welcome. Disputing a claim or contributing contrary evidence is not prohibited merely because others disagree with it.
8. Moderation
To protect the service and enforce platform rules, Koinovera may review reports and abuse signals; hide claims, references, or review notes; lock claims; warn users; and suspend or ban accounts. Moderation will depend on the nature, context, and seriousness of the issue, as well as security and legal requirements.
Automated or deterministic abuse signals are indicators for review. They do not by themselves establish wrongdoing. Where the product marks a particular moderation action as appealable, an affected user may submit one appeal through the available appeals flow. An appeal does not promise reversal, and not every action supports an appeal.
9. AI-assisted features
Koinovera uses AI-assisted systems for implemented features including claim clarity and testability assessment, semantic search, similar-claim suggestions, source processing and retrieval, stance and evidence-passage suggestions, and evidence summaries.
AI output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unavailable. AI does not determine truth, does not replace user judgment, and does not convert a suggestion into a community or editorial decision. Verify important information against the original sources before relying on it.
10. Intellectual property
Koinovera’s branding, software, visual design, and original platform materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property rights. Except for the limited right to use the service under these Terms, no rights in those materials are transferred to you.
Third-party publications, websites, brands, and other source materials remain owned by their respective owners. Linking to, extracting limited information from, or discussing a source does not transfer ownership of that source to Koinovera or its users.
11. Third-party content and links
Koinovera contains links to third-party websites and publications. Koinovera does not control those third parties, is not responsible for their availability or content, and does not automatically endorse a source or its views by linking to it. Third-party services may apply their own terms and privacy practices.
12. Service availability and changes
Koinovera may change features, perform maintenance, experience outages, or discontinue functionality. We do not promise that every feature or item of content will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. Where practical, changes will be made in a way that respects the integrity of existing research records.
13. Account suspension and termination
Access may be restricted or ended when reasonably necessary because of serious or repeated policy violations, abuse, a security risk, a legal requirement, or conduct that threatens Koinovera or its users. Restrictions may be limited to particular content or actions where that is appropriate. Any appeal option shown in the service is governed by the moderation section above.
14. Disclaimers
Koinovera is an informational and research-oriented service. It does not provide legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice. Community contributions and AI-assisted output may not reflect the most current evidence or the context relevant to your situation.
Use appropriate independent judgment and consult a qualified professional before making an important decision. The service is provided on an “as available” basis, subject to any rights and warranties that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Koinovera and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the service or its content. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
16. Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated as Koinovera changes or legal requirements develop. Material changes may be accompanied by an updated effective date and, where appropriate, notice through the service. Continuing to use the service after updated Terms take effect means the updated Terms apply to that use.
